Janet Rowthorn-Cobleigh

Janet Rowthorn-(Cobleigh)

 Janet Rowthorn, (Cobleigh) is the owner and director of the Bravo Dance Center received her degree in dance from the University of Massachusetts for thirty five years has implemented dance programs at every level in Boston, New Jersey, New York, Florida and Atlanta.  As a dance educator, Janet was supervisor one of the first Performing Arts High School in the state of New Jersey.   She has taught at the University of Massachusetts, Agnes Scott College, The Georgia Ballet, the Groton School, Hillsborough High School, Scotch Plains High School, Academy of the Arts, Cocoa Village Dance School and the Brevard Community College.  Presently on the Dance Advisory Board at Kennesaw State University.

Ms Rowthorn was the former artistic director of the nationally known DENISHAWN Repertory Dancers and New Jersey Center Dance Collective.  Janet worked along side of former dance historian Jane Sherman and founder Michelle Mathesius for ten years reconstructing the historical work of Ruth St Denis, Ted Shawn and Doris Humphrey.  The company was supported by grants from the NEA, the Dodge Foundation and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.  The Denishawn Repertory Company toured nationally and was one of seventeen modern companies invited to represent the US at the 1990 Biennalle International Dance Festival in Lyons, France.   Produced a film documentary: DENISHAWN – The life and dance of Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn.

In addition to her work with the historical modern dance, Ms Rowthorn received numerous Distinguished Fellowship Awards for her own choreography and grants for her company Rowthorn & Dancers.  Ms Rowthorn has set her work on the prestigious “fame” school in NYC, the Georgia Ballet, Agnes Scott College, Pebblebrook HS and Several Dancers Core of Atlanta.  While in the New York area,she continued her dance training  at the Martha Graham School, the Broadway Dance Center, Steps, the Jennifer Muller Studio, the Peridance Center, and the Finis Jung Ballet Studio.

Marina Levasheva picture

Marina Levasheva

Marina trained with her father, Vladimir Levashev, a world famous Ballet Master, rehearsal director, teacher and principal dancer with the Russian Bolshoi Ballet. Marina apprenticed with the Bolshoi Ballet and Moiseyev Dance Co. and earned her degree in Fine Arts and Dance at the studio of the USSR State Folk and Character Dance Academy under the artistic direction of Igor Moiseyev. She has performed with the Beriozka State Academic Choreographic Ensemble for more than twenty years and toured over 30 countries. She is the former assistant director for the Georgia Ballet and has staged several of the Bolshoi Ballet's works such as "Paquita", "Carmen", "Les Sylphides", "Giselle", "Swan  Lake", and "Sleeping Beauty". Presently she is the Coordinator of Ballet at Bravo Dance Center.

Carolyn Crumpton-Perry

Carolyn Crumpton-Perry

Carolyn Perry received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Arts Management and Dance Performance from Brenau University, Gainesville, Georgia. Carolyn began her dance training in Wilmington, N.C. with the Wilmington Civic Ballet. She continued her dance education throughout the east performing with various companies, attending many area dance festivals, and summer dance programs.
Upon graduation from college, Carolyn moved to NYC where she worked as a manager for the Broadway Dance Center. She was in charge of scheduling for the scholarship program and other administrative daily tasks. In addition, she studied dance with some of New York finest dance instructors. She performed with the touring cast New York Dance Ensemble's "Firebird", sponsored by the American Theatre Wings.
Carolyn then moved to the Atlanta area and began a successful career dancing with the Georgia Ballet Professional Company, Bacchus Productions, Bravo Dance Center, and other free-lance performing opportunities. With the Georgia Ballet, Carolyn performed in such ballets as the "Nutcracker" (Arabian pas de deux, Waltz, Snow, Spanish); Swan Lake (Russian variation); Giselle (friends); Carmen; Sleeping Beauty; "Five Guys Named Moe" (pas de deux); " Where the Wild Things Are" (Dream Max); Balanchine's "Serenade" (Dark Angel) to name a few. With Bacchus Productions, she was contracted to dance at many corporate events such as "Home Depot", "Herbal Life", and many more. She was one of two dancers selected to perform at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Michigan for the "Legends of Rock" concert on New Year's Eve, 1999. Most recently, Carolyn was seen dancing in the Fabulous Fox Theatre's 75 th Anniversary Musical Extravaganza. In May 2005, she performed the lead role in "Paquita" with the Bravo Dance Company.
Ms. Perry has been teaching with the Bravo Dance Center for thirteen years. She is Program Coordinator, Company Director, and Assistant to the Director, Janet Rowthorn. She has choreographed many award winning winterguard shows for the Pride of Cincinnati since 2001, and continues to train dancers within that organization. Prior to that, she was very active choreographing the highly recognized Lassiter High School and Pope High School colorguard and winterguard programs. She implemented and taught the first and only dance program at Harrison High School in Kennesaw. Carolyn has also been employed with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps and most recently she worked with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle corps during their successful 2005 season. She is a certified dance instructor for students of all ages and levels in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre. Carolyn is delighted to become a part of the dance faculty at Kennesaw University and is looking forward to the growth of this dance program.

Kristin Foister

Kristin Foister

Currently a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, Kristin has been a respected dancer, choreographer, and teacher for many years. Formerly a competitive gymnast from Cincinnati, Mrs. Foister has used her strength and skill to become the polished dancer she is today. She has danced in several television commercials, industrial shows, Six Flags Over Georgia, Bacchus Productions, and promotional appearances for various music artists under the direction of Emmanual Lewis. She was also selected to dance for the 2003 NBA All-Star Game held in Atlanta. Mrs. Foister's choreography is unique and diverse. Her choreography ranges from the opening number of the 59th Lighting of the Great Macy's Tree, to the annual Indiana Pacers Gala held in Indianapolis. She has also choreographed the Bugs Bunny Show and the Crystal Pistol Fright Fest Show for Six Flags Over Georgia. Since 2006, Mrs. Foister has also been one of the Company choreographers for Atlanta's Chick-fil-a Bowl. She also put together the premier reveal of Coca-Cola's C20. Currently, Mrs. Foister is Company Director for the Bravo Dance Senior and Pre Professional Companies. Her choreography and dancers are always recognized for their pronounced musicality and performance quality that they give their audience. Mrs. Foister enjoys teaching aspiring dancers of all ages, and is especially grateful to pass on the "gift of dance".

Courtney Bromwich

Courtney Bromwich

Ms. Bromwich studied and performed as a company member at Dance Stop Studios for nine years. During that time, she had the opportunity to take tap and jazz master classes from such well known instructors as Gus Giordano, Debra Bray, and Jason Weiss. After graduating high school, Courtney attended Brenau University for a year where she majored in dance and performed with the Gainesville Ballet in such productions as The Nutcracker and Alice in Wonderland.  In addition, Courtney has also performed with the Kris Cangelosi Dance Project and Ruth Mitchell's Young Audiences program.  Ms. Bromwich has enjoyed teaching and choreographing for studios throughout the metro Atlanta area for over ten years.  Currently, she is looking to further her dance education and has returned to Kennesaw State University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Dance.

Beau Foister

Beau Foister

Beau Foister, a native of Georgia, has been adjudicating and teaching master classes for Challenge Cup Competition for many years. Mr. Foister is a well renowned choreographer and dance instructor for students of all ages. His work has won national choreography awards in Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Tap. He has choreographed for the Miss Georgia Pageant, Albany Ballet Theater, Third Edition Color guard in Michigan, Stevenson High School Competitive Pom Team, and USA Cheers under the direction of Pamela Astista, who is currently the choreographer for the Chik-fil-a Bowl, in which Beau assists. Mr. Foister is currently a resident guest artist with the Georgia Ballet. He has danced in such classics as "Nutcracker", "Serenade", "Where the Wild Things Are", "The Adventures of Mary Poppins", "Swan Lake", and many more. He is proud to have been selected as a featured dancer for the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Foister always looks forward to educating and inspiring dancers from beginner to professional.

Heather Haley

Heather Haley

Heather Haley  has been teaching Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz and Tumbling for twenty years throughout South Florida and Georgia.  She majored in Dance at Florida State University, graduating with a degree in Political Science and Russian Literature.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and had  owned a dance studio in Boca Raton, Florida before relocating to Georgia. She has staged productions of numerous Ballets, such as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Peter and The Wolf, Cinderella, and Coppelia.  She has choreographed various musical productions such as 42nd Street, Hello Dolly, Funny Girl and more.  She has choreographed National television commercials for Shell Oil Company, and staged a music video for the pop duo “Sister to Sister” whose song appeared in the film, “Bring it On.”

Rebecca Haslam

Rebecca Haslam

Rebecca Haslam trained  at the Ballet Conservatory in Mission Viego, CA.  Her training included Ballet,Modern (Martha Graham Technique) and Jazz.  She had the privilege of studying with former members of the Joffery Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.  She studied at BYU in the area of professional dance.  She has taught classical ballet for the past 22 years in California, Colorado and Georgia.

Crystal Meyer

Amanda Shanks

Amanda Shanks was a competitive gymnast before pursuing her career in dance at Bravo Dance Center, and from there began her journey in the dancing world. Ms. Amanda spent the next 5 years dancing and competing for Bravo Pre-Pro Company. Presently dancing at Six Flags, she has also been a freelance dancer/choreographer with  Bacchus  Productions, The Strand Theater, Macy’s lighting of the Great Tree, and CHRIS for Kids.

Anita Thomas

Anita has been a gymnast since the age of eight and competed on Mother of Mercy's High School gymnastics team all four years of high school. She began working at Vandergriff Gymnastics Center in Cincinnati, where she taught children ages three to nineteen.  Anita also coached the U.S.T.A. gymnastics team for eight years, before moving to Atlanta. She has two daughters that have danced at Bravo, Laurie and Kristin, and  has been teaching tumbling with us for three years.

Cindy Garguilo

 "Ms. G" has been teaching for 30+ years. She is a graduate of Florida State Univ. & holds a BS in Physical Education/Dance. She has had 2 studios of her own in Fl & Ga,. She has choreographed for Community Theatre: Joseph & the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grave Rave, The Nutcracker. She choreographed "Jesters" for The Nutcracker of Mid Ga (with Ballet Rotaru  & Ruth Mitchell guest artists) for 5 years. 17 of her students performed various roles including Clara, Fritz. Many of her students have gone on to perform on Broadway, Disney, TV Videos & Commercials, College Dance Scholarships. Mrs. Garguilo teaches ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, & tumbling to all ages & all ability levels. This is her 4th year at Bravo.
